Heinrich Luitpold Himmler was Reichsführer of the Schutzstaffel and a leading member of the Nazi Party of Germany. He saw over all internal and external police forces, including the Gestapo. Himmler was seen as one of the most powerful in all of Nazi Germany. As overseer of the Einsatzgruppen task forces, Himmler coordinated the killing nearly six million Jews, and 11 million members of other minorities the Nazis considered "sub-human". Shortly before the end of the Second World War, he offered to surrender both Germany and himself to the Allies if he were spared. After being arrested by Allied forces, he committed suicide before he could be questioned.
Heinrich Himmler was a key member or leader of various Nazi 'Doomsday projects' such as the Nazi space program. Hans Ubler's Chamber of Horrors, in Berlin, was very popular with Himmler's inner circle of mystics and scientists.
In July, 1937, he personally located the Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin in Positgnano, Italy. Having heard about his teachings concerning the dawn of a new age, Himmler offered his resources if he would return with him to Nazi Germany to make use of his wisdom. Rasputin accepted his offer, which would eventually lead to the creation of Project Ragna Rok.
